Brown Mulch

Brown Mulch

Our double-ground hardwood/softwood blended mulch, with a natural brown colorant added. A great addition to your yard, helping to keep plants healthy and avoid weeds.

Brown Mulch is made up of native hardwoods and softwoods that come from local landscape and land-clearing operations in the area. It is to help avoid the waste going to a landfill or being burned. Over time, the brown mulch may fade, but only to a lighter brown. It is not made from ground pallets and the coloring is a natural vegetable colorant that does not run. This recycled mulch does not have any contaminants in it, like nails from dried out pallets, that tend to shatter. It is screened at 2 inches for a consistent texture.

Brown mulch is a good choice if you’re looking for something unique. It lasts a long time compared to finely-shredded hardwood mulches and it will stay in place on slopes better than chips. All of our colorants are non-toxic. If you would like us to dump your mulch on concrete or grass, we recommend that you cover it with a tarp prior to your delivery since small pieces of brown mulch will stick for a while.

We sell our mulch in bulk and find it easy to work with because it will stay loose and workable right as it is dumped in your yard. We currently do not have much available in bags. Our mulch is sold by the cubic yard, $40/cubic yard (3ft x 3ft x 3ft). For more information related to the exact quantity in a cubic yard, please see our calculator. For questions call The Dirt Guy at 860-303-0500.

We have a 5-yard mason dump (rate 1) and a 20-yard triaxle (rate 2).  Listed below are the delivery charges for rate 1 trucks (up to 5 yards) and rate 2 trucks (from 6 to 20 yards).  Just find your town, and you will see what the delivery fee will be. Delivery Chart rates here
